At this point, the inspection takes over a heat sensor that can measure the thickness of the meat and, together with the LED back light on the right, informs you about the current baking state.

The display has the following statuses: Grill recording, early grilling, rare, medium and well done. If you leave the grill turned on and the meat gets to the well-done stage, the grill will turn itself off.

Example: Set the meat program on the grid and press the start button. The display will light up to purple color and hob will fire up. After a beep, the display will start to grill, then place a high-quality steak on the grill.

The thermal sensor of TEFAL GC 702 D Optigrill evaluates the optimum temperature and cooking time, and the display will show you by sounds in what status of the meat is.

If the display shows the medium heat of meat, you know that you can take out the meat of the grill.

You can be probably skeptical about this as many people are, but in Tefal they really did best job with this grill. The meat actually corresponds to the information on the display. I think that many people will appreciate it this great function. I also got used to it. In the case of uneven ingredients, like vegetables, there is a much better manual mode.

TEFAL GC 702 D Optigrill display is color-coded and easy to read. The manufacturer even promotes the function of grilling frozen meat. I’m not a fan of such meat preparation, but at least you know that when you’re in hurry this grill will do it for you.

Grill plates

Both grill plates are ribbed from non-stick material and can be folded. The grilling area is 600 cm2. Cleaning is very easy even in a dishwasher.

Deployment is easy and quickly starts to heat up when you start the grill. The reason is because the grill is having a sufficient power of 2,000 W. The top of the grill is insulated, so you won’t get burn.

The lower part of the grill is tilted at a 7-degree angle, so excess fat or oil is poured into a ready, easy-to-remove bowl.
